It is unfortunate that such customer-unfriendly approach still exists in banks like Union Bank of India. Does it make any sense that a person who has shifted more than 1000 kms away from the place of original branch is asked to go to the original branch to submit the application for transfer of account. Perturbed by this reply I enquired if closing of the account can be done from any of the branches, prompt came the reply that for closing of the account too one has to go to the original branch.
