Report Unauthorized Electronic Banking Transactions

Unauthorized electronic banking transactions carried out over Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), ATM, Point of Sale etc. & block your Debit or Credit card in the following ways:

Method 1

Most fast and easy method is to call customer care of that bank. As soon as you come to know of any fraud, call immediately customer care and ask them to block your Debit/ATM Card. They will ask certain security questions, answer them and will block your card.

Method 2

If bank branch is near, visit bank branch immediately and ask them to block your card. Suppose you are having PNB ATM card then visit any nearby PNB branch to block your card.

Method 3

Some banks have special SMS system to block your card. You need to send SMS with card number for blocking your card.

Suppose you are having account in HSBC Bank:

Send an SMS – ‘BLOCK<space>HSBC<space>DC/CC*<space>Last four digits of your card number’ to ‘575750’ from your registered mobile number.

*DC: Debit Card and CC: Credit Card

Method 4

Through internet banking. If you are having internet banking account, you can also send secure message to block your card.

You can report unauthorized electronic banking transactions carried out over Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), ATM, Point of Sale etc. & block your HSBC Debit or Credit card in the following ways:

  • Call our India toll free number 18602662667 if you are calling within India or Phone Banking if you are calling from overseas, to block your card immediately.
  • Send an SMS – ‘BLOCK<space>HSBC<space>DC/CC*<space>Last four digits of your card number’ to ‘575750’ from your registered mobile number
  • Send us a secure message through HSBC Personal Internet Banking (if you have registered for it)
  • Visit the nearest HSBC India branch
